Hartlepool Old Boys Bowling Club
The bowling club is affiliated to the Hartlepool Rugby Club (formerly Hartlepool Old Boys Rugby Club) and was formed in 1962 playing its games at Friar Terrace on Hartlepool's Headland area. In 2000 the club changed venues and made its home green in Welfare Memorial Park in Blackhall and continues to work closely with Monkhesleden Parish Council to provide excellent facilities with high standard bowling green. The Club currently has teams in the Hartlepool & District Mid Week and Saturday Leagues and also in the Cleveland Friday Night League. Members of the Club have represented it at County level for both Durham and Cleveland and have reached national finals at Skegness and Royal Leamington Spa.
